About me
Isabel McLain is the Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Virginia Housing Alliance (VHA), a statewide nonprofit advocating to address homelessness and increase access to affordable housing. Prior to VHA, Isabel worked as the Research and Policy Analyst for Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia (HOME). Isabel has lived in Richmond with her dog, Jasper, for 3 years. Before coming to Virginia, Isabel worked with the Homeless Persons Representation Project (HPRP) to advance equitable policies and practices in Maryland. In addition, Isabel spent several years as a case manager for people experiencing housing instability and homelessness. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore with a focus on community action and social policy.
