Amy Snider was appointed Deputy City Manager for the City of Harrisonburg in November 2023. Prior to her appointment, Amy served as the Assistant to the City Manager since January 2019. In her role as Deputy City Manager Amy oversees the departments of Public Works, Public Utilities, Public Transportation, Parks and Recreation, and Community Development. Amy is additionally responsible for overseeing implementation of several of the American Rescue Plan Act-funded projects and programs. This includes the construction and operation of the Navigation Center.
Prior to joining the City, Snider served as a policy analyst for the DeKalb County, Georgia, Board of Commissioners. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University. She is a member of the International City/County Management Association and the Virginia Local Government Management Association.
